Was It Yesterday Dear!

Slowly rowing into the sea,

As the waves glitter gold and red.

Was it yesterday dear!

We untied our boat into the sea.

Hope the compass shows the route,

Alas, the children are thirsty and tired.

Whales and dolphins groan, and shriek,

May look friendly but not so.

Was it yesterday dear!

Each had a loaf of bread and fish.

Children dear, have the leftover,

In no time, the sun will disappear.

Fast you row the boat to shore,

We shall stay put to pass the dark hours.

Daily Prompt: Disappear

I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. BY ROBERT FROST
