Be prepared

Be prepared for one day you will grow old,
God knows how smooth it’s going to be,
We may or may not be rich,
But ensure to keep your beloved safe.

As you grow old, it’s a bliss,
If you have your family around;
For they are your pillars of support,
Who hold you close in tough times.

It’s a pain to see lonely, elderly folks,
Who have none to lean on!
What they earned might be in the bank,
Alas! that’s not going to be of any use.

Vulnerable are they at that age,
Who crave for love and affection,
If you can’t love them, who else will?
Be prepared for growing old.

Damn the dream!

I woke up and tried to get up,
But neither could move nor talk,
I saw my family around me,
Shocked and shaking me from sleep.

I was awake, yet couldn’t shout,
Stiff I felt and heavy was my heart,
Was that fear or coma?
Felt a ton on me and was immovable.

Was rushed to a doctor, everyone crying,
I tried but could move only my thumb,
Which none noticed or cared!
But I gathered my strength to shout.

Nothing happened but a sharp pain,
That was too painful and unbearable,
Pulled myself and shouted loudly,
Gasping for breath, cursing the damn dream.

All whisper the word, “cancer” !

People pity and whisper the word cancer as it is truly deadly and scary. A common man cannot afford to get treated at a private hospital as the medicines are costly along with the room rent, investigation and other charges. On the other hand, the government hospitals slow the process.

You have to find a private doctor, a genuine soul who treats the patient with concern. One such doctor will give you strength to fight back but not the one who scares the patient to death.
